The Greene County softball and baseball teams both suffered non-conference shut-outs in Perry Tuesday evening.
The Greene County Rams lost 5-0 to the Perry Jayettes in a non-conference softball game in Perry Tuesday evening. The loss ended a six game winning streak for the Rams, who now have a season record of 8-4.
Perry freshman pitcher Emma Olejniczak allowed only three hits. She struck out three and walked one. Marissa Promes started the second inning with a double, Emma Saddoris doubled in the third inning, and Sydney Koch had a base hit with two outs in the seventh inning.
Pitching for the Rams was sophomore McKenzie Dennhardt. Two of the Jayettes’ runs scored on errors.
In baseball, the Rams lost 15-0 in four innings. Perry had a 12-0 lead after two innings. Tyler Beger and Daric Whipple had the only hits, both singles, for the Rams. Junior Dylan McConnell pitched the first two innings and took the loss. Junior JC Weitl pitched the third and fourth innings.
The loss put the Rams’ season record at 3-5.
